bali was beautiful. who couldn't fall in love with a place like that? perfect beaches, warm people who are forever smiling, and the leisurely pace of life that makes every day feel like a holiday.
i learnt a couple of things, met a couple of wonderful people, and a couple of not so wonderful people. and i've realised that its tiring, very very tiring being pretentious and smiley all the time to people that you don't really like. and i've realised that rich people aren't always the happiest people, but rich people can also be very nice people.
all in all it was a good experience, it taught me how to deal with situations and not compromise myself. so don't say that i was on holiday because really holidays are supposed to be relaxing, we weren't. pretty houses and good food and good wine don't count for anything if you're a lousy person.
and at the end of it all, i think i've grown a little older.

hello from bali everyone! in a short span of a couple of hours, alicia and i have been living the life already. when we touched down we got whisked away to hu'u bar, owned by a very impressive young singaporean lady who is no less an acsian as well!
a couple of flutes of krugs later, we're at the villa. oh my god the villa. apparently this isn't the bomb yet. but its bomb enough already i say. a cosy lil place with outdoor living room plush chairs and right next to the swimming pool. the bedrooms scream romance and the toilets OH the toilets. my dream toilet. outdoor bathrooms with those overhead showers that make you feel like you're taking a bath in the rain. its all so difficult to describe and if i'd brought my cable you guys would know what i mean but then i forgot. :/
i very excitedly called kelvin to tell him that this is the house that we're building for ourselves. actually, all i really want is the toilet.
we'll see what tomorrow brings! get well soon jie and eli. oh man i wish you girls and guys could be here.
many apologies for the completely unstructured entry with zero poetic factor. i'm still trying to take it all in.

back from krabi! apart from bruises, scratches, cuts, falls, and more mango shakes than i can stomach, it was a good trip. im craving the 40baht duck noodles again!!! mei u should have tried it!!! and dim sum at krabi town was fun with more than 40 miniature plates of pure gastronomic delight. the siew mai was oh my god droolingly good. and in the end we each paid 3bucks! that wouldnt even buy me 1 'long' of char siew bao in spore. id put up pics but i have to get my camera fixed first. in the meantime, long overdue birthday update. the good thing about turning 21 are the money from parents and grandparents, and the presents. nahhhhhhhh. where got so materialistic one me. ahahaha. i think the good thing is turning 21 and realising that u still do have people who care and that they re still around albeit a lil distant amidst the daily grind. thankyou all who made me who i am. 21 and still a bimbotic klutz to my dearies around.
bday taitai lunch with the girlies i havent seen together for sometime at ding tai fung at paragon.

and for the big day itself, the boy booked me a suite in hotel intercontinental! it was BEEEEYOOOOOTIIIFOOOLL!!
YEAH RIGHT. u think my boyfriend prints money ar.
mine was the suite just opposite the presidential suite. still beautiful and awesome and overlooking the cbd. and the thought that im maybe staying opposite some high profile politician/ambassador/president was how fun!
 at first glance
 the living room area
my favourite! the bathroom had a tub, a shower area, a dressing area, 2 toilets, bathrobes, little kits that hotels always provide and MORE. THIS.
is what im talking about. molton brown toiletries!!!suite indeed. i was amazed. the conditioner is da bomb.
 the superb company
 climbers
 3 queens missing one.
 perfect match.
 dearies
me made to drink chocolate sauce+absolute+pineapples+strawberries+a load of vile stuff and of course my dear friend smirking beside me how nice.
mei the indian poker smiling queen. me the indian poker loony bin.
 classic marcus grin.
eating junk food, drinking and hanging out. im a happy girl. and it couldnt have been better except that if nat was there but it was still great thankyou all. esp. you the boy.

i dunno whether i'm in that homesick mode yet. its quite funny actually. i'm having a ball of a time doing stupid shit here.. yes mei, no drugs.. but anyways, riding the dirty bus, eating tacos and doing things everyday. but at the same time, i was craving chinese food so badly yesterday that i had a really bad version of china express. i can't stand the spanish classes. its like 3 hrs everyday and when i wake up at 6.30 in the morning, i have to drag my chinese ass up to go to school. but i can't wait to start clubbing. my friends have already started their drinking session. mexico founded tequila and i swear i've seen more than a 100 types of tequila. so i'm excited but sad at the same time.. hahaha..
like mei says, having loved ones at home really makes life a little harder.
but have fun in bali and hong kong mei tay shuang.. go pay sandra an zihe a visit!

so this might be what a jetsetting lifestyle is like. back from krabi, off to bali, and a week later maybe to hongkong. i might not like it as much as i thought i would, or maybe its all just happening too fast. having loved ones in your life really keeps you rooted to your space. it makes one wonder how brave you must be to pick everything up and just leave like that caucasian woman in krabi who married a thai man.
so krabi was good, not as exciting as nat's mexico hype! (hello nat!don't let anybody drug your drinks, don't wear clothes that are too revealing and don't let anyone slip drugs into your bag!AND DON'T TAKE DRUGS OR I'LL TELL THOMAS AND HE'LL WHOOP YOUR ASS)
nonetheless it was still fraught with adventure and danger. we had to trek through mud and rocks and free climb down a vertical drop with a ravine below all while carrying heavy equipment and wearing only, my trusty havaiianas, which almost got me killed several times. but they survived, and i survived. everything moves at such a slow pace there and people are just so content.
except of course for the nasty woman at NANACHART MANSION during our one night stay in Phuket Town who, at midnight, demanded an extra 100 baht for the extra people we had in our rooms, despite an agreement we had with her colleague that we'd be staying for only a night so 3 per room is ok (2 per room is the max). so we did what we had to do, and packed our bags at 1am in the morning and marched outta there with our heads up high and evil eyes staring straight at them, got our semi refund and went down the road to another shitty guest house. REMEMBER NANACHART MANSION IN PHUKET TOWN SUCKS.
Ok enough rambling, photos!
Oh this is so weird i just realised all the photos would appear above my entry but i'm too lazy to do anything about it

They say that I´m in this excitement phrase. and i think i'm very well stuck. its been a great journey so far. its been 3 days and i'm loving it. missing thomas soo very much and i wouldn´t be surprised if our bills become more than $300 in 3 days, but yeah..its been amazing. riding the little stinky bus, having weird people as friends, trying my hardest to not have a brain freeze, eatiing fruits for breakfast and having to wear pants instead of skirts.. its been quite a change but its been good.
so yes yes yes, i'm alive and i've not been kidnapped yet!

having a brain freeze from too much spanish!
but mexico has been great. it was scary at first while we were driving to our town, with broken half built houses and cheaply painted pepsi signs everywhere. but when we finally entered Morealia, its been pretty. its very much like italy meets england crashing with a lil bit of malaysia and spain..so much history, so much culture..
but the mexican men have been horrible. for some reason, they get excited because i m asian and they scream and shout "chincinta!" like theres no tomorrow. i feel like i m some hooker in geyland being stared at and judged..
but nevertheless, i would post pictures if i could. but this is mexico, no USB stick hole.. so we'll wait..
and i cannot wait to go clubbing!! they have the most awesomest techno clubs here and their tequilas have worms inside that will fuck u up!! wreeeheeeheee...
till then..
