Tuesday, May 30, 2006 even though... i am highly overworked and terribly underpaid, extremely frustrated and totally disgusted with anyone white. and even though.. he is way down south in florida, absolutely broke, heartbroken that his world is spinning the opposite way, jobless, schooless and physically girlfriendless.. i'm just grateful that we still have each other. because our world could have been alot darker but its just a little bit better when you have your signficant other holding your hand and smiling right back at you. florida has been nothing but a very big mistake for the both of us. its a learninn experience. a very painful one. but it has made our relationship so much stronger. and for that, i'm grateful. nat posted by 3 @ 11:33 AM   3 comments Monday, May 29, 2006 Why are people canning X-Men 3? She peed on me while I was asleep on the couch. and I didn't realise it till half an hour later. How is that even possible is a question that I cannot answer. ~mei~ posted by 3 @ 11:18 PM   3 comments Sunday, May 14, 2006 the birthday weekend was intoxicatingly carefree. couple good food with tender loving care and im a happy girl! and thanks to all who called or texted or gave me well wishes one way or other. i feel so loved and remembered! living area of my hotel room.. nothing beats comfy hotel sheets! hotel intercontinental has got to be my favourite place to have a short weekend get-away in spore. and the cheapo me of course koped all the toiletries! haha last year when we had the suite it was Molten Brown toiletries, this year its L'occitane! yay~ dinner at Haliah restaurant in botanic gardens. wasnt as originally planned but it turned out for the best! al fresco french fine dining amidst lush greenery and dim candlelight. the weather was slightly dewy and chilly. perfect! spinach and shitake mushroom soup with garlic croutons. this totally prepped me for the wonderful main courses to come. our mains! rack of lamb with peashoots in wine sauce, truffle mashed potato and panseared eggplant. i had a pan-seared red snapper fillet with crabcake, brocoli and tomato salsa. FWAH. they were both damn amazing. now i know why they call it fine dining. the lamb was succulent, juicy and nicely done. the red snapper was so tender and the CRABCAKE oh my god. it was just the sidekick of the main but it was deliciously sweet! definitely more-ish. eh.what about the dessert? we polished it off in less than 5minutes so no pictures. haha. warm chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream and kirsch strawberries. divine. this benchmarks my standard for all warm chocolate cakes! minus the thrills and the frills. i would have enjoyed myself as much having roasted duck rice at east coast road or lavender wantan mee topped with yishun durian ice kachang. and everything's amazing cos of YOU. posted by 3 @ 6:11 PM   3 comments Friday, May 12, 2006 ever since my exams ended, my days have been jam packed and ive hardly been home! ive been meeting friends, eating, climbing and basically trying to have as much fun as i can before i face up to the reality of getting a job. =( nevertheless, im so happy i dont have to sit through another damn exam for the rest of my life! okay not including stuff like driving tests and all. lazy to type. photo update! post-exam celebrations started when i went to batam for a spa retreat! trip courtesy of the sister as a birthday present! bonding with my little doggie after his much needed grooming! met up with the AA2 queens and also nat for lunch and an afternoon of taitai-ing over coffee and shopping~ and then we had climbing team steamboat! the mala soup sucked though, luckily we opted for the tom yum eventually! Greedy climbers cake to celebrate the birthdays of the april, may and june babies~ holidays are here yay! lets just hope im not on permanet holiday. all output and no input = a very broke me. for now its more resume sending, buay hiao bai CV writing, and PLAYING! ~eLi p/s: nat>>> did u get my messages? and my snail mail? cos i finally got ur snail snail snail mail valentines day card! =) posted by 3 @ 1:25 PM   2 comments What's there to blog about if the bulk of my days are spent moving from couch to couch in my living room and flipping through cable channels and top speed? well ok i exaggerate my holidays are not so bad, i just get bored really easily. knowing me i'll pack my days really fully then i wont have time to do the things that really need to be done before work starts on the 22nd! like packing my room. and getting my ass into shape. you know, the important things in life. speaking of the important things in life, a one Glorious Princess that we bumped into at Zouk Members last night really made me think (as much as i could possibly think in my state of highness) about how essential it is to lead a quality life. I mean yea, you're pretty because you got lucky and God gave you a nice face to look at and other assets which were of questionable nature (read lopsided) but nonetheless correctable via minor surgery. and sure people fall at your feet and fawn over you because you're oh so hot. But when you're 45 and sagging wrinkled and lonely, well honey aren't you gonna be sorry about the bridges that you've burnt and i'm sure, will continue to burn?
