After reading in the papers yesterday about younger couples who are knocking their kitchen space into half and creating more room more the other parts of the house, something inside me screamed. I really don't to become one of those young couples that have to tapao food for dinner home every night. The thought of it really makes me want to puke. There's only so much hawker food one can take. I want to be one of those wives that can cook for their husbands and family blah blah blah but at the rate that i'm going, knocking off at 8 on a regular day for a bloody intern, I think i'm gonna have a kitchen as small as a storeroom. boohooo.
anyways, enough of my sob stories and fantasies. here's some random pictures

i think i have never been so tested in my entire life before.
6 more weeks till this program ends. and i cannot be happier. not that it was the worse experience in my life. it probably was one of the worse decisions i've ever made. i did, however, learn alot. about myself, about my faith and my pride in being asian and probably about people in general.
whats more to say about work that hasn't already been said. its tough. but i made it. got promoted twice in the last 5 months. i got trained at the front desk, checking people in and out, dealing with all sorts of complains and just basically listening to anything and everything from the sun. i lift luggage all the time. 5 out of 7 days, i'll be at the luggage assistance, not bell services, luggage assistance. like that really makes a difference to the general public but no wait, it apparently does to disney. like how adjoining and connecting rooms are supposed to mean very different things to the regular person down the street. i got promoted to become a luggage dispatcher. the person i charge of the luggage room. i was incredibly proud of myself for about.. a week. because it was something i was excited to do. but i immediately learnt that respect comes with age over here. and now, i'm a trainer. i train new cast members at the front desk and at the luggage room. pretty amazing for someone who merely got here. i'm proud and impressed but at the same time, i'm tired and worn out. but its all good though. its a learning journey at the very end of the day. and i've learnt that i naturally like and click with the older people. they seem to like me alot. and vice versa as well.
roommates are just another pack of drama altogether. 6 girls in a house. 6 very different girls. different culture, beliefs, value systems and all that. its just been dramatic and i can't wait to move right back to hawaii. when its just thomas and i all over again. in our little ghetto area.
so i just have 6 more weeks. 6 more to go. 42 more days. then i'm back home.
on a brighter note, thomas moved down south to be with his family because his roommate is a total bastard and due to financial situations, it was the best decision we could make. last week, we took a mini vacation to clearwater and tampa. it was an amazing nice short little trip and i'm so grateful for that.. we're trying to visit different cities for the next couple of weeks. i still want to travel to puerto rico and jamaica and haiti to meet the rest of thomas's family. but maybe that isn't too feasible. but road trips are equally fantastic too.
but other than that, i'm fine. a little depressed and a lil tired but grateful that its all almost over.
and i finally got my drivers' licence too...yaaaayyyyy.
so if you're not already bored listening to me talk about jamie by now, this is the only photo i have with jamie from that night. :( ugly picture, but what to do! and i realised that whenever something exciting happens i tend to obsesss about it for about a week before it finally begins to die down and i go back to being me again. so the entire week i've been listening to jamie and that voice of his over and over again, falling in love over and over again. all this time trying to push the conscious awareness that he probably doesn't remember me from that drunken night (NO SEXX NOTHING PEOPLE I ALREADY TOLD YOU!) into my subconsciousness. but its in the conscious part of my brain and its there to stay. so yes, while i will always bear that tiny little hope that you remember me jamieeeee, life will go on from now. haha i sound like a ridiculous crazed fan
jamie cullum and band are undoubtedly the best live performers i've seen by far. the concert was simply, rockin' haha very charismatic lotsa great fun crazy jumping around throwing of chairs and of course, the voice, oh my gosh the voice. so rich and raspy and goddamned sexy. haha ALICIA PRESCOTT YOU MISSED IT i missed you lots. There was an unwanted presence of sourness lurking all around me the entire night.
but of course she couldn't be expected to bring jamie around so naturally i did haha ok i'm being a bitch here but yes hanging out with them was great. too bad they're off to LA already :( jamie is cute he's like pint-sized cute i want to snog him haha yes snog, i said snog. hahaha naturally the first place we rushed to after the show was straight to a bar to watch soccer. and naturally the soccer team we were supporting was england no surprises there! it was a great night, despite the fact that i hadn't eaten and my tummy was screaming out at my abuse. :/ jamie's like a lil boy and he tried to trick me into believing that he was 20 haha. i really believed it. he's 26.
i think i won't let on about what happened after the soccer matches, not here at least. but no i didn't sleep with any of them thank you very much!

so i was at my work station today, taking a 5 min break from the painfulness of sorting out very messy documents when a mail came in about job openings and my mind did a quick scan of who needed jobs. as i opened the internet browser and clicked on the 3dumblondes link so suss out some email adds, i get this msg:

you know that hot and prickly feeling that you get when you feel a sudden rush of UHOH? yup. I got that.
SO hello Mr Ng! :) I have nothing but good things to say about your firm no worries! haha
But what's wrong with surfing the occasional blog anyways? I get that its about the staff not wasting their time and enabling them to clock more billable hours but sometimes people need a break and frivolous blogs are often the right fix. plus it doesn't take up more than what 2 minutes of one's time. and IF a member of the staff was spending too much time on blog surfing you would know because IT tracks every website visited anyway so one would be able to put that to a stop ANYWAY! So perhaps we should all be a little less harsh on blogs because some of them provide very interesting intellectual discourse which we could all use from time to time.
and on a side note, people should believe in karma just a little bit more. :)
long overdue update! pumpfest came and went..was'nt as psyched up for this comp..feeling a lil over-the-hill, being the graduating batch and all..so not in a very competitive mood. nevertheless, joining 2 cats was fun! got to try more routes and my first experience in open cat. went surprisingly well (for my lousy standards la), t'was a great learning experience and prep for the next level of routes. Ready.. Stretch.. and Go! existing + incoming dino girls! _____
met up with Su and Gwen for dinner..had yummy norwegian salmon steak at sun moon! and i love their green tea ice-cream with red beans. always nice to have good dinner and catch-up talk cok sessions with old friends.
Work is crazy. Its intense. Its been 3 days at the new firm, and it feels like its been one year, both in a good and bad way. I have great great great great room mates. Peter Callegari a German/Turk/French hating Swiss guy, and Ken, the good ol typical AC boy, and of course, sweet Jiayun. Plus very motherly loving seniors at the firm who are currently pupils there. They work us to the bone, and I suspect they're just getting started. But its alright when you have people that you like working with you on the same team. Not to mention a super cool lawyer also AC boy whose case you're helping out with.
3rd day and Jiayun and I are already OTing. But its good allll good! excellent exposure. Sure beats sitting there and surfing the net. Boss is great, well so far so good at least, because he bothers. I AM getting brainwashed by the firm i think. But in a good way i guess! :)
oh yes, my colleague peter looks like brendan fraser. its damn funny. he's a funny guy I like him loads. and ken too he's funny too. i will take pictures one day and show you guys. i have yet to find ken's doppleganger. he insists to everyone that i look like his cousins.
