i have always been a granny's girl.
and i cannot describe my lack of emotion because i've always feared that that one fine day would come and i would lose her for good and therefore, replay that image over and over again in my head which lead to my lack of visible emotion. or could it be that i'm just simply too fed up and upset with all the drama that i haven't had the proper time to mourn over her. i think my family should have their own reality show. we would be very very rich.
anyways, i'm back in orlando. grandmotherless.

it feels like its been forever since i stopped working but i dont' feel any less busy. I haven't even had time to brush up on climbing because of the hectic rehearsal schedule. Yes, to avoid having to repeat myself to everyone over and over again, i will say it here. I'm doing a musical for Law IV. its a musical that the graduating class of Law School has to put up because its tradition. Traditionally, Law IV has always sucked. but last year's Law IV performance knocked the socks off all of us and I do have a feeling we're not going to match up. Nonetheless you are all buying tickets and going to watch us, yes? YES.
apart from rehearsals everyday i've barely had the time to meet up with people and catch up. so far on my list i've maybe done two or three. and it isnt' enough! and i'm leaving for krabi on friday!
speaking about krabi, everyone's expecting a tsunami to happen there and wipe us all off the face of this earth. so everyone's saying dont' go don't go. but really, if its time, its time. Yes, i have a million and one unaccomplished things on my list of to-dos, but if you gotta go you gotta go! and i totally recognise that there is a difference between leaving it up to fate and delivering yourself to Death's door, but I will distinguish my present situation from delivering oneself to Death's door by stating clearly and unequivocally and its not as if it has been announced that there will be a tsunami happening next week and i am going there knowing there a tsunami will happen. yeap. so that's that. haha.
BUT YES I WILL COME BACK FROM KRABI ALIVE AND ELI WILL COME BACK FROM KRABI ALIVE.
and having said that, friends, pray hard for us please haha

PICTURES PICTURES... very long overdue pictures.
i have exactly one month left. and i finally had some time off to post pictures and i decided to post a pictorial timelog of my time spent here. it was such a nice process cause i got to look through hundreds of pictures and just recollecting the memories was just what i needed.
so anyway, i arrived in late january and it was unexpectedly cold. i never thought that florida would have its winter season but it did and it was blisteringly cold. i spent the first week lazing around, trying to adjust to the time change and basically just played catch up with thomas. but for some strange reason, i wanted to go visit gatorland. it's this rundown ripoff attraction and i was so keen on paying 20 bucks to go see alligators and crocodiles.

i didn't quite enjoy it because it was really too small and the animals looked sad for most parts. but thomas loved it and he managed to entertain himself rather nicely.
then on the 1st of february, i had to check into Vista Way Apartments. my disney internship accomodation. I was going to live with 5 different girls in a 3 bedroom apartment. they said that your roommates were based on random selection. but for some reason, all the minorities were bunched up together and the rest managed to stick together. oh well. so meet Asha, Francis, Tracie, Hye Sung and there used to be Melissa. But Melissa was a weirdo white chick, who was very strange to my liking and i never really communicated with her. so one fine day, she decided to go crazy on us, hit Asha and got sent home. A couple of months, Jennifer appeared. She's from Hong Kong. But like Melissa, strange in her own ways.
But anyways, living with these girls is such an experience. I never lived with a black girl. let alone live with 3. but it turned out to be pretty good. when its good, its really good. and when its bad, it gets very ugly. its very much like a sisterhood bond. we club, we sing, we dance, we share stuff, we complain about each other, we stay up till very late but then, theres the screaming and shouting and the cussing and the i hate u periods as well. overrall, i really liked it. because we had more good days than bad. and like i said, when it was good, it was really good.
In mid March, Aya came. Aya's my friend from Hawaii. And she was here for about 10 days. For the first few days, we took her to Disney World. There are basically 4 theme parks; Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and MGM Studios.

While Aya was here, my roommates and I decided to take her down to Miami because (a) it was Ultra Music Festival Weekend and (b) we all collectively had days off or called in sick.
Miami Miami Miami.... fucking awesome. That city has such energy and it makes you wanna party all night long. The beaches are beautiful, the clubs are fantastically nice and the boys are very very yummy. white boys, black boys, hispanic boys... ohh i love them all. But our weekend in Miami was crazy. Just 4 girls, headed to south beach, danced and drank our asses off.
Saturday was ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL. Can I say that I waited for this event for a whole year. its like zoukout, no wait comparing it to zoukout is such an insult. its like the loveparade in berlin but Miami style. Only the very best djs were there. and if they weren't spinning at UMF, they spun during the week. That week was the winter music conference week. it was such a love affair. there was armin van helden, paul oakenfold, tiesto, seb fontaine, benny bennassi, prodigy, carl cox, paul van dyke.... the list goes... nat was a happy butterfly that day.it was fucking awesome.
Only Oake Can do it this big. He was fantastic. And can i say, i thought i fell in love when i heard seb fontaine spin.
A couple of months later, Archique came. Archique is thomas's friend. And they were in the Marines together. I used to like Archique as a person. He's nice, very small boyish. But when he was here, it was nothing but drama. See, Archique has a girlfriend whom he emotionally abuses. He would call her for no reason and pick a fight with her, make her cry and apologize her ass off. And all this while he was here, trying to pick up every damn girl who moves. doesn't matter if she was fat, skinny, pregnant, married, over 45 or not, he wanted them. Fucked girls like there was no tomorrow, ate them out and grossed the shit out of me. But thats Archique for you. Very good looking. But too damn confused for my liking. Plus, he was here for two whole weeks. so that was two weeks of drama. But there were some good times too. Thomas and I brought him down to Miami and drove him around as well.
And I do like white people too. hahahahahhaa.. my friends at work are mostly white and very crazy. It was AShley's birthday. one of my co-workers. and thomas and i celebrated it with her. Most of us came out that night.
But the most exciting thing about Florida is the roadtrips. Even since I got my licence, we've been taking short roadtrips to sightsee. So far we've been to :
Clearwater Beach in Tampa.
Its supposed to be this really pretty tourist area in the West part of Florida. About 2 hours from where I live. It was pretty nice. Very chill. But the waters weren't as nice. We spent a day there and then drove around Tampa. Downtown Tampa is really nice. And if you know about Tampa, you'll hear about Ybor City. Its this clubbing area. Very dark and haunted but the clubs are supposed to be like those in Miami. we didn't stay for the clubs cause it was a little too scary for the both of us.
and theres Cocoa Beach. An hour east from where i live. Its right next to the Kenndy Space Center where the space shuttle was launced and landed a few days ago. Cocoa's very nice. small town, white, surfing area. I wouldn't live there for too long if i had a choice. but for a one day retreat, it was comfortable.
MIAMI!!! Again.. what can I say bout that place except for the fact that I absolutely love Miami. Its beautiful. The combination of the beach and the city life. I love it. Thomas and I went to Miami for a coupld's retreat last week. We didn't club that night. just drove around, ate at the southbeach cafe like retarded tourists, stayed over at the Whitelaw hotel and just chilled. On our way up, we drove to Fort Lauderdale. Nothing much to say about that.
We still have yet to drive down south to the Key West and up north to Daytona Beach. I really wanted to fly down to the Bahamas and Puerto Rico but I can't call in sick for work too many times and my Disney pay doesn't grant me that priviledge.
Last but not least, a couple of weeks ago, Thomas turned 25. 25 freaking years old. damn. Nothing too special. Cause i'm not a creative person. But we had dinner at a thai restaurant and i gave him balloons!!!
and so, it all leads me to where i am right now. one more month to go.
i know my narration skills were horrible and i could have possibly made this whole experience sound like thrash. but it really was good and i got bored while i was writing this.

update! sorry for the disappearance but work has been draining allll my time such that whenever i have free time i'd be tryin to fit in whatever fun stuff i could think of! weekends are highly treasured now cos its the only time i get to rest and relax. so anyhow, over the last 3 weekends ive been to tampin and malacca for some bouldering action (which unfortunately resulted in more bowel than muscle movement due to excessive yummilicious malacca food consumption.) , and then off to KL for some vertical climbs at camp5! (and lots of cinnabon buns! applebon + cheesebon + classic bon + coffee = perfect breakfast for a very happy eLi ! ) and last weekend was my cousin's wedding! ok pictures say more.

had my commencment ceremony today, felt quite surreal going up on stage to receive my scroll and knowing my parents are sitting among the audience watching me. i wonder how its like being a parent and watching ur kid finally getting her degree. i wouldnt say i felt particularly accomplished, since i cant really say i chionged for my degree. but i guess im just glad im here at this point in time of my life where i can say ive come full circle in yet another phase. im a student no more!!!! will post up the pictures of me in my pink graduation gown soon. haha.
